Working together, faculty, teaching assistants and the members of the Career
Services Network (CSN)
can insure that Syracuse University students explore and gain
exposure to as many career opportunities as possible in a fair and efficient
manner, and that they are prepared to present themselves effectively as
candidates for important positions.
CSN members welcome opportunities to visit or host classes,
or even to fill in if faculty need to be away, to present programs on topics
such as career decision making, employment trends and issues, resume and
cover letter writing, interviewing, networking, and other career and job
search-related concerns. Also, if you advise student organizations, we
would welcome the opportunity to present similar information to these groups.
In preparation for such programming, we want to encourage faculty to:
-
Get to know the career services professionals in your college. Also, visit
the Center for Career Services (235 Schine Center) and meet the Center's staff. Presentations by CCS staff can be
arranged by calling the Center at 443-3616 or by
emailing
Monica Roberts, Assistant Director for Counseling.
- Be aware of the other all-university members of the Network.
-
Familiarize yourself with home college and CCS career resource areas which house
print and videotaped information on careers, companies, and job search techniques.
-
Stay abreast of special career-related events and recruiting activities
by periodically reviewing Career News Online (Click on Network News above).
-
Offer feedback or ask questions to help us improve our web site.
