A number of Career Services Network members play roles related to references and credentials management:
- The Center for Career Services offers alumni, undergraduate, and graduate students the opportunity
to keep letters of reference and other materials supporting their
candidacies for employment, graduate study or other situations in a file
for timely transmittal. Students anticipating further study in the
next several years should consider setting up such a file now in order
to avoid the difficulties brought about by seeking faculty references years
after an acquaintance has faded, or by departures and retirements of faculty. More complete information on setting
up a Credentials File at the Center for Career Services can be secured by
emailing
Pam Latham, the Center's Client Services Manager.
- Students in the School of Education should email
Linda DeFrees for details of the credentials service offered there.
- Credentials services are an important part of the services offered to pre-med and pre-health students by the
Health Professions Advisory Program (HPAP).
Faculty should also check in their home college career offices to learn if specialized credentials services are offered for
specific populations of students.
