Mission: The Mission of CPCS is to promote, support, facilitate and
recognize public and community service as a fundamental part of the teaching experience
for students, faculty, and staff.
Populations served: All students
Services/Programs:

Supports faculty and staff in integrating service learning experiences
into academic course work;

Create new opportunities and support ongoing academic and campus activities which foster public and community service on the local, national and international levels -- coordinate activities where appropriate;

Furnish organized and expanded information for all seeking service opportunities;

Provide, and assist others in providing: pre service training, on-going
support, and thoughtful evaluation of the service experience;

Promote the recognition of activities that encourage service as part of
the teaching and learning process and as part of active life-long service;
and
-
Assist students, faculty, staff, and members of the community, both locally and beyond, to develop, support, and evaluate service opportunities that meet the needs of the community served in addition to providing learning opportunities for participants.
CPCS is also the home of the Syracuse University Volunteer Organization
(SUVO) which organizes Dome Day (a food drive held before a home football
game) in the fall, and the Comstock Kidfest (a carnival for Syracuse City
children from neighborhood centers), held at Manley Field house in the spring.
